Hybrid Role (In Office + Work from Home) Overview Our client, a national not-for-profit organization, is seeking a Development Coordinator Consultant to support its Principal & Major Gifts team in New York City. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional with experience in nonprofit development, fundraising operations, gift processing, donor services, advancement services, or a related area. The Development Coordinator Consultant will provide hands-on operational support to the Major Gifts team during a busy fundraising period, helping ensure gifts are processed accurately, donor records are properly maintained, and important administrative and fundraising activities are completed efficiently and on time. This is a consulting opportunity and a hybrid role, with the organization's HQ based in Downtown Manhattan in New York City. Core Responsibilities Support the processing and quality control of charitable gifts, pledges, and other financial transactions. Ensure gift and donor information is accurately entered, coded, and maintained in accordance with organizational, financial, auditing, and reporting requirements. Assist with the preparation and timely delivery of donor acknowledgments and tax receipts. Work closely with members of the Principal & Major Gifts Operations team on day-to-day operational projects and requests. Coordinate with Development, Finance, Revenue Operations, Digital Fundraising, Foundations, Gift Planning, and other internal teams to ensure gifts to the organization are properly processed and recorded. Manage and respond to Operations Team requests through Asana. Help maintain accurate, organized, and up-to-date electronic donor records and departmental files. Support the preparation, assembly, and execution of fundraising and appeal mailings. Assist with additional fundraising operations and administrative projects as needed. Key Qualifications 1+ year of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, advancement services, gift processing, donor services, or a related area preferred. Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience working with donor databases, CRM platforms, or other relational database systems. Experience with Excel and Salesforce is highly preferred.
